The Gallup company, the nation’s leading polling agency, released the results of a poll on August 7, 2019 about usage of CBD in the US.
The findings are more proof that CBD is working for millions.
“One in seven Americans say they personally use cannabidiol- (CBD-) based products, which have proliferated since last year's passage of a federal law legalizing this hemp form of cannabis.”
They report that usage are more likely in younger Americans and those who live in Western states.
Their report showed the 50% of respondents knew what CBD products are but aren’t taking them. At this point, only 35% of Americans haven’t heard of CBD products.
Among people age 18-29, 20% of them are taking CBD. For those over 65 only 8% are taking CBD products. Significantly, usage across the country is about 11% - 13%, but in the West, 21% of people use CBD products.
Why people use CBD products
The overwhelming reason that people take CBD is pain. 40% of all respondents are using if for pain.
Here is the complete list of the reasons that Gallup listed:
Pain (nonspecific) 40%
Muscle spasms/Soreness 4%
General health 4%
Mental health 4%
Skin care 2%
For pet 1%
Digestive issues 1%
No opinion 1%
They note that adds up to more than 100%.
“Among men and women who use CBD products, roughly four in 10 of each say they use them for pain relief; but women are more likely than men to use them for anxiety (25% vs. 14%, respectively), and men are more likely than women to use them for help in sleeping (15% vs. 8%).”
Gallup notes that the legalization in the 2018 Farm Act brought lots of CBD products to the market.
What it all means
CBD is gaining popularity and there are millions of Americans who are relieving their pain and feeling better with these products.
As time goes on, there will be more information, more data, to prove, scientifically, the effects this amazing product.
While older Americans are less familiar with it, younger Americans are getting healthier and staying healthy with CBD.
Finding the Right CBD
One thing that the Western states have as an advantage is a more mature cannabis culture. The legalization of marijuana in those states caused a lot of growth of both marijuana and hemp years before many other states would legalize it.
